Permissions
When the Trojan is being installed, it requests permissions to perform the following actions:

  • Access information about networks
  • Access information about the WiFi state
  • Change network connectivity state
  • Change the Wi-Fi connectivity state
  • Change the current configuration, such as locale
  • Change the phone state, such as powering it on and off
  • Check the phone’s current state
  • Create windows that are shown on top of all other applications
  • Install shortcuts
  • Mount and unmount file systems for removable storage
  • Open network connections
  • Prevent processor from sleeping or screen from dimming
  • Read and write to external storage devices
  • Read or write to the system settings


Installation
Once installed, the application will display an icon with a white key with parenthesis on a blue background.

Functionality
Once installed, the Trojan will attempt to log in to the Wi-Fi administration portal of the Wi-Fi router it is connected to using a set of hardcoded credentials.

If successful, the Trojan browses the administration portal and modifies the values set for the Domain Name System (DNS) server field.

Any devices using the same Wi-Fi router will be using the DNS server set by the Trojan.
